Multi-Factor Authentication

To enhance the security of staff accounts, Kindertales implements Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). This added layer of security ensures that only authorized personnel can access sensitive information, safeguarding both staff and families.

What is Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)?

MFA is a security feature that requires two or more verification factors to access your account. In addition to your password, you will need to verify your identity using another method, such as a code sent to your phone, email, or an authenticator app.

How to Set Up MFA

Once MFA is enabled for your account, you will be prompted to set it up the next time you log out and log back in. Follow these steps to complete the setup:

  1. Log Out and Log Back In: After logging out, when you attempt to log back in, you will see a prompt to set up MFA.
  2. Choose Your Verification Method: You will have the option to select one of the following methods for MFA:MFA Method Choice
    1. SMS: Receive a verification code via text message.MFA SMS
    2. Email: Receive a verification code via email.
    3. Authenticator App: Use an app like Google Authenticator or Authy to generate a verification code.MFA Authenticaator
  3. Follow the On-Screen Instructions: Depending on the method you choose, follow the instructions to complete the setup. This may involve entering a code sent to your phone or email, or scanning a QR code with your authenticator app.

How Do I Support Parents?

As a staff member, you may need to assist parents with their MFA setup. Here’s how you can support them:

  1. Guide Them Through Setup: Explain the process of setting up MFA, similar to how you set up your own account, and help them choose their preferred verification method.
  2. Resetting MFA for Parents: If a parent needs to reset their MFA, advise them to log in to their Kindertales account, navigate to the Family tab, click "Edit," and then "Unenroll" to change their MFA method.
  3. Provide Resources: Direct parents to any available guides or support resources provided by Kindertales for additional assistance.

We are committed to ensuring the security of all accounts and appreciate your cooperation in setting up MFA. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please contact our support team.
