Lesson 2: Daily Check-In and Check-Out Procedures

Navigating Daily Check-In and Check-Out Procedures

Objective:
Understand and efficiently manage the check-in and check-out processes to ensure child safety and compliance with daycare protocols.

Overview:
The check-in feature is designed to streamline the process of recording child arrivals and departures, ensuring accurate attendance records and adherence to safety standards. This lesson will cover both contactless and manual check-in methods.

Steps:

  1. Understanding the Dashboard for Daily Operations

    • Familiarize yourself with the dashboard upon login as it displays the real-time status of each child, helping you manage your day efficiently.
  2. Using the Contactless Check-In Feature

    • Navigate to the main menu and select Check in and out requests to see a list of children whose parents have initiated the check-in process.
    • This seamless feature works in conjunction with the parent app, allowing for a swift and secure start to the day.
  3. Checking Children into Different Rooms

    • If managing children across multiple rooms, use the filter button to select the All Rooms option.
    • Review the child’s details, confirm any required information, and view the parent’s signature on your device.
    • Click Continue to complete the check-in. Observe the child’s circle change from black and white to color with an "in" indicator, visibly confirming their status.
  4. Manual Check-In Process

    • Alternatively, if contactless check-in is not used, select the child from the dashboard, navigate to the action menu, and choose Attendance followed by Check in.
    • This method requires manual confirmation of the child's status, and if a parent’s signature is needed, it must be obtained physically on your device.
  5. Checking Children Out

    • The process for checking children out at the end of the day mirrors the check-in process. Use the Check-outs option in the main menu to manage departures.
    • Ensure all departures are recorded to maintain accurate and secure records of the day’s attendance.
  6. Daily Recap and Monitoring

    • After check-ins, you can return to the dashboard to see updates in real time, which helps in monitoring attendance and ensuring no child is unaccounted for.
