In Kindertales, the Features section is crucial for customizing the application's functionality to align with your daycare's operational needs. This guide focuses on the General, Daily Activity, Health Check, and Enrollment tabs, offering a comprehensive overview of how to manage these features effectively.

General Tab:

• Overview: This tab provides a high-level view of various features available in Kindertales, allowing you to enable or disable specific functions. This central control ensures you can tailor the application's capabilities to your preferences. Control the following features:
  • Daily Activity: enables access to the Daily Activity feature in the Classroom app for teachers and parents on all devices
  • Attendance: allows parents to request additional care days and notify staff of absences through the mobile app and desktop
  • Classroom App and Family Messaging: enables messaging between teachers and families using the Kindertales Classroom apps and gives parents access to their messages
  • Baby Bulletin: allows parents to complete a form detailing their child's pre-drop-off behavior via mobile app or desktop
  • Milestones: enables teachers to record Milestone entries on classroom tablets; parents can review these on their devices
  • Billing: gives parents access to billing on mobile and desktop; when disabled, only the Director or higher can access billing
  • Medications: allows parents to detail their child’s medication needs via a form on mobile or desktop; when disabled, only the Director can do this

Daily Activity Tab:

• Supply Notifications: Define which items to notify families about when supplies are running low, such as diapers or wipes. This feature enables teachers to communicate quickly with families through the Classroom App, ensuring children's needs are promptly met.

Health Check Tab:

• Customization Options: This feature allows for the customization of pre-screen questionnaires, check-in options, health observation lists, and instructions for staff on handling denied check-ins due to health concerns. It's a comprehensive tool for managing health and safety protocols within your center.

Enrollment Tab:

• Classroom Visibility Control: Toggle this feature to control when children become visible in the Classroom App. Setting this to ON requires the completion of enrollment forms and payment of enrollment fees before visibility, whereas OFF allows visibility once the child's start date has passed.
• Additional Controls: Decide on allowing non-scheduled check-ins and granting staff the ability to delete child profiles. These settings provide flexibility in managing day-to-day operations and maintaining data integrity.

By understanding and utilizing the settings within the Features section, your daycare can optimize Kindertales to better serve your staff, children, and their families, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation that meets your specific needs.
